Story
Two years ago this September, we learned Ger
had passed away, very suddenly and unexpectedly, he had suffered a heart attack. It was devastating for family and friends so this year as Ger's second anniversary approaches, Ger's brother Michael is organising a memorial walk /run in memory of Ger. It is envisaged that the proceeds of the walk will be used to provide an External Defibrillator and training for the Milehouse area and the remainder given to the Irish Heart Foundation.
Heart disease remains the most common cause of death in Ireland hopefully this project will endeavour to create an awareness to help deliver services that will contribute to a reduction in pre-mature deaths.
The Heart Foundation are the nation’s heart and stroke charity. Their mission is to affect positive change in the lifestyles of Irish people, to achieve better outcomes for those affected by heart disease and stroke and to challenge when the health of our nation is put at risk. They empower people to live longer, healthier lives. I hope that Ger’s walk maybe used to support this mission statement and also help the local community.
Please if you can at all donate by clicking on the link below, or
by using sponsorship cards by contacting 0872927138, donation boxes will also be available on the day of the walk, small donations all add up, and will be much appreciated. Thank You.
