I spent a few years as a Trustee of Renewable World and I know how much good they do, and how much effort goes in to ensuring that as much as possible of the funds raised are spent on appropriate renewable energy installations where they are most needed.  Just as importantly, they ensure that the local communities will benefit and create businesses around the new facilities, in addition to adding more value to their existing ways of life.   Surprisingly small sums can make a vast difference to communities previously lacking any electricity sources at all.   To be able to complete the ride to Edinburgh will require a lot of painful getting into shape over the coming months, but it is a fantastic cause and any donations you can make will make a difference.
