I have episodic ataxia as did my mother and as might my children. It is such a rare condition that GPs know very little about it and there are very few specialists in the UK. This meant that I wasn't diagnosed until I was 40 even although  I had my first episode at the age of 13. Therefore I not only want to raise as much money as possible for research but also to raise awareness of the condition.
