Fundraising for British Paralympic Association
Story
I'm a girl that likes her adventures. I enjoy hurling myself out of planes, off cliffs, down mountains. I'm passionate about running until I collapse and cycling until I slip into a coma. And when this outdoor masochism can be done for a really good cause, all the better!
My current adventure is riding the length of the country with the Deloitte Ride Across Britain team on June 12th-20th, to raise money for the British Paralympics, the charity which supports GB athletes through each Paralympic Games. In 2008, ParalympicsGB came second in the medal table in Beijing. With the 2012 Games just around the corner, this fantastic organisation needs support to make sure their athletes are ready to compete against the world's best in London.
To raise some of this money for ParalympicsGB, the Deloitte Ride Across Britain team will cycle from John O'Groats to Land's End (almost 1000 miles) in only 9 days. While my bike Grendel and I have been on some epic journeys in the past, we've never taken on anything on this scale.
