BHT
BHT is a charity working with people who are homeless, at
risk of homelessness and/or have complex needs. They deliver services and
projects across Brighton and East Sussex to those people most in need.. They change lives, we
save lives. They ensure that people, in spite of austerity, still get services,
opportunities, access to justice and their rights protected. And they provide
homes for people.
Last year BHT:
worked with 6,843 clients
4,442 of whom had a physical or mental
disability1,038 were rough sleepers
First Base Day Centre, supporting people who are rough
sleeping or homeless was open for 288 days.
Its staff helped 306 people to move off the streets - more than one
person each day.
All BHT services together, in Brighton, Eastbourne and
Hastings, prevented 2,055 households from becoming homeless
Our clients have
overcome isolation and poverty,
found recovery from addiction,
come to terms with and overcome mental health
problems,learned, grown, volunteered, embarked on
internships and secured employment
