I (Mel) tragically lost my mam to Covid 19 on 9 April.

Mam suffered with a lot of ill health so deteriorated with Covid 19 very quickly and the doctors knew she wouldn't survive. Me and my sister were only able to visit our mam once and were given 10 mins to say goodbye to our mam, behind masks and in such in impersonal way.  We then had to leave our mam in the hospital for 4 days, while she passed away - not surrounded by her family but surrounded by dedicated NHS staff. We want to say thank you to the team who were with our mam at the end, when we couldn't - so I have joined up with my lovely friend Lucinda to run 100k in 4 weeks and raise money for Ward 24 (Covid Ward) at the QE and their amazing team.
