In memory and in honour of Mia, myself (Mia’s mum Mel) and Phil (Mia’s dad) will be running the London Marathon in April 2023. We continue to try and process the loss of our beautiful girl, and need to do something positive to raise the much needed awareness of meningitis and to prevent such senseless loss for other families. 🤍🕊

On Wednesday 9th March 2022 at 14.37 we tragically lost our beautiful daughter and sister Mia to bacterial meningitis after her short fight with the infection.  What started as a sore throat developed to aches and pains, and then quickly escalated within hours to Mia being hospitalised and placed into an induced coma.  The severity of the bacterial infection was so aggressive causing Mia's brain to swell, and ultimately impacting on her brain stem causing irreversible damage.  We know that this disease is very rare and just want to raise awareness to help any future research and support others.
