Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My family have re-homed greyhounds in the past and we have a really big soft spot for their crazy, lovable, LAZY, i-can-fit-on-this-tiny-sofa characters. The biggest dog in my life was Leo, a rescue from The Blue Cross. Gorgeous big boy who was petrified of everything and unfortunately showed a lot of fear aggression due to how badly he had been treated. With a lot of patience and the strictest routine, Leo became to love his muzzle (as it meant walkies!!!) and really love everyone he met (as long as they had treats!). He came to work with me every day on a yard and, although could be temperamental at times, he was really a big lovable boy who loved nothing more than attempting to chase those naughty squirrels, have his dinner and sleep, sleep, sleep.
We lost him to bone cancer, which is devastatingly common in the greyhound, but he has left a huge mark on our lives and has taught us a lot about rehabilitating a mentally-scarred dog into a 'normal', loving home.
Unfortunately, Tia rescues loads of greyhounds that have been abused or are now unwanted from the racing circuit as they are no longer 'winners'. They have been amazing to follow and I hope mum and I can help them out on our trip up to their centre in August.
