Story

On the 16th and 17th April this year I will be joining a group of students from the University of Southampton in walking the 106km coastal path of the Isle of Wight over 2 days to raise money for Cameroon Catalyst.

Cameroon Catalyst is an international development charity which brings together students, engineers and specialists who lend their expertise to help facilitate sustainable development in villages in rural Cameroon.

Over the past 5 years Cameroon Catalyst have completed 5 projects across healthcare, electrification, education, housing and training in a village called Bambouti in eastern Cameroon. This year the charity is focused on providing access to improved water sources through the installation of new wells and pumps in 10 villages across eastern Cameroon. There is a real need for safe drinking water in rural Cameroon as currently 50% of people in these regions do not have access.

The money that you donate will go towards the materials and equipment needed to develop, build and sustain these water wells and pumps, so that the communities can continue to benefit from the water supplies long after the project has been completed.

If you would like any more information about the work that Cameroon Catalyst does please visit www.camerooncatalyst.org/ or visit our facebook page www.facebook.com/camerooncatalyst/

Thank you very much,

Megan
