Story
As most of my friends will know that my mum went into St Andrews Hospice on the 15th of June and passed away there on the 18th of July 2019. So as it’s approaching her year anniversary I’m going to do run/jog 5k everyday to try and raise money for such an amazing charity.
The hospice is such a charity wonderful charity and over these difficult few months they’ve not been able to do any fundraisers or events to help them get the money they need to be able to stay open and provide such an outstanding service to the people of Lanarkshire. Throughout my mums time there all the staff in the hospice couldn’t do enough to make sure my mum was cared for and comfortable as well as all the support they gave us as a family during her time there and after she passed away.
St. Andrew’s Hospice endeavours to provide a high standard of specialist palliative care to the people of Lanarkshire, encompassing human dignity and compassion. As Lanarkshire's only specialist palliative care hospice, we provide multidisciplinary support for our patients, their families and carers. Whilst we receive funding from NHS Lanarkshire and other sources, this only partially covers our running costs. Continued provision of these services is only made possible by the generosity and assistance of the people of Lanarkshire.
