As some of you may be or may not be aware, I am currently working for Derby County Community Trust (DCCT). DCCT is a charity and receive no money from the actual club- which many people don't know! But once a year DCCT run an trip to Kenya in association with African Adventures and a charity called St Trizah. The trip is 10 days in a Kenyan school, working with the local Kenyan children. Now this is where many people will leave the page but hang on..... Yes, the trip does involve us building something for the local Kenyan community that we visit HOWEVER it is much more about spending time with the children and giving them some TLC. We offer our coaching abilities to the children over there and also help provide support for the teachers in the local school that we visit. It is much more about seeing a smile on the children's the face than anything!!
DCCT aims to raise around £20,000 with £500 of that being put straight back into our highly recommended Disability programme that I am also involved in. To achieve this each person must raise around £2,500 and it an opportunity not to be missed. So please, pretty please with a big fat cherry on top help me to get to Kenya and see the smiles on the children's faces. Whatever you donate 1p , £1 or £100 , I would be entirely grateful as would the Kenyan Children and our footballers in the DCCT Disability programme.
Thank you
Meg x
