Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Please donate and help me to raise money for the Alzheimers Society. Alzheimer's Disease 'Dementia' is an awful disease which affects so many people. My nana had Vascular Dementia (the kind where anti-dementia medication cannot be prescribed) for many years, luckily she was content and did not realise that her memory was fading. She kept that same smile everyday until she unfortunately passed away in 2007. I have worked and continue to work with people who have Alzheimers and I can see how lucky we were that my nana was so content and just allowed us to look after her. There are so many people who are so troubled by the disease and who completely lose their identity and personality. There are more and more people getting various forms of Alzheimer's due to various reasons including people living longer and healthier lives, but there are also many more people starting with memory problems at younger ages (aged 40/50). This is why I think more and more people need to support the charity and help raise money so that they can continue to provide support, not only to the person with dementia, but their carers and families. Also, fingers crossed in the future they will have raised enough money to continue the research and maybe even find a cure.
Please help - every penny makes a pound.
Thankyou :)
