This Refugee Week (15 – 21 June 2020) musicians and poets from across the UK and North America have come together to record videos in support of CARAS (Community Action For Refugees and Asylum Seekers) who help refugees through education and support in the community in Tooting. 

Last year we raised £340 with a live SoFarSounds benefit show and with this digital show we are hoping to equal that total! 

The video will go live on Wednesday 17th June and will feature performances from Ren Harvieu, Gecko, Ganda Boys, China Bears and many more. 

CARAS works to build a place of safety and dignity for refugees and asylum seekers in south London. Support services that are available can be impossible to access for those have little or no English, who feel uncomfortable in formal education, are unsure about their rights, lack confidence when finding their way around our area, and have no place to turn in a crisis. Through social activities, English lessons, workshops and individual support, CARAS aims to ensure that no one faces the asylum system alone.
