Meet McKinley - she's 3.5 years old and started having seizures at 3 weeks old. At 9 weeks, she was diagnosed with CDKL5.
CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder (CDD) is a rare, developmental and epileptic encephalopathy caused by changes in a gene called CDKL5. This genetic change causes epileptic activity as well as severe impairment of development. The hallmarks of CDD are early onset of seizures and developmental delay impacting cognitive, motor, speech and visual function.
There is currently no cure, but help support the research for one. Thank you!
