Story
We are a team of colleagues working throughout
McColls.
Our team has people working directly in stores, at head office and
throughout the field.
We are all passionate about the fantastic work GOSH does.
A number of us on are on the doorstep of Great Ormond
Street Hospital however everyone of us knows someone who has been involved or helped by Great Ormond Street Hospital.
There are 8 of us taking part on a 56 mile bike ride.
We want to do our part to support this wonderful hospital whilst at the same time having fun in the process.
McColls have a national partnership to help fund a vital parent accommodation service and we are raising money towards this new accommodation.
Our Team of Winners consists of
Stuart “Frosty” Frost, Regional Manager aka The Boss
This veteran cyclist is getting back on the saddle after a 20 year
absence. The rest of the field will have to watch out for this SPEED LESS demon as he whizzes through the field on his Rayleigh burner with stabilisers still in tact!!
Andy Odish, Area Manager BG aka Bean-O
Always fully committed to the task at hand, Andy used the opportunity of his wife’s 40th birthday to upgrade the ‘family’ mountain bike. With a monster mean machine of a bike now in the Odish household, Andy has a fighting chance of finishing all 56 miles. (Plus Mrs Odish can use her new bike on a Tuesday)
Martin Sawyer , General Manager Built Environment aka Demolition Man
A veteran of the London to Brighton ride and an experienced rider.
Martin is so confident in his abilities he will be cycling all 56 miles, pint glass in hand.
Dave “The Irish” Brown, Area Manager BE aka Savage
The Irish savage joins the pack , one of a secret laid back nature or isit a ploy to lure the team into a false sense of security?
Tim Old’ Beale, Area Manager BA aka The Snail
Given the opportunity to go back to his glory days of bike racing in his teens, a passion for the open air and the dirt track, he spent hundreds of pounds on finding the right machine that would take him over the hills and far away… now, many teens later and having gained tens of pounds, is his Raleigh Chopper over the hill?
Robert Palmer, Area Manager MC aka Ginger Ninja
Intolerant of both gluten and failure – the Ginger Ninja has been
training hard tirelessly on his Father’s bike to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Nick Biron – Payroll Data Analyst aka Data Mine
Has just bought his first ever bike…
Hopefully the lockdown beard does not slow him down too much!
Trudi Stanley – Store Manager Goring on Thames 6642 aka Queenie
Some say high maintenance, she says royalty.
Has previously done a couple of charity rides so will send you to the chopping block if you do not keep up!
Off with their heads!

Great Ormond Street Hospital
Childrens Charity (GOSH Charity) and McColls, the leading neighbourhood retailer, are delighted to announce a brand-new charity partnership that aims to raise £1million over the next three years. Seriously ill children from across the UK travel to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) for specialist treatment for rare and complex conditions.
The money raised by McColls will help fund GOSH Charitys vital parent accommodation service, supporting the refurbishment of 'McColl's House', which brings families closer together when a
child is receiving treatment.
By partnering with GOSH Charity, McColls colleagues and customers will support families at the heart of their communities, right across the UK.
