Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Amazingly, I have been selected to represent Great Britain in Men's Rugby at the 2013 Maccabiah Games in Israel - the “Jewish Olympics” as some like to call them. With over 10,000 athletes from around 60 countries competing this year, the games are only third in size to the Olympics and Commonwealth games. This is a great honour and something I am really proud to be a part of, occurring only once every four years.
I am looking forward to representing my country with pride and passion, but this dedication needs sponsorship. Each Team GB athlete must raise £3,950 to compete in this unique sporting and cultural celebration and so to help aise the money for the trip, I am going to run the 10k Maccabiah Fun Run on Sunday 26 May in aid of a charity called Maccabi GB. I am very grateful that my family is helping me with half the cost, and I am committed to raising the rest.
The money raised will help enable Maccabi GB to carry on the amazing work they do here in the UK. Maccabi GB’s mission of using sport as a tool to educate and ensure the continuity of the Jewish people has never been more relevant. Maccabi GB are constantly looking to create more sports clubs, tournaments and sessions. The more sporting opportunities they offer to our youth, the better chance there will be for them to pick up a pair of trainers and get active and stay healthy – and most importantly stay within the Community.
So, whilst some of your sponsorship will assist my participation, you will also be helping Maccabi GB carry on the amazing and valuable work they do here in the UK.
Anything you can donate is much appreciated!
Thank you for your support,
Max
