Plusnet Leeds Half Marathon 2017 · 14 May 2017 ·

The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Hey guys, with it being Autism Awareness week in April, I thought I would train to run an Half Marathon and hopefully raise a few quid.

As people know, I was diagnosed with having Asperger Syndrome in 2007 and have received fantastic support down the years. I would like to raise some dosh to be able to help the National Autistic Society continue to do the excellent work they do.

The experience was a challenging one. After coming back from a nasty back injury, I slowly increased the miles, and completed 13.1 miles. However I developed a knee injury a few weeks before and had to rest my knee to give me the best possible chance of completing the run. On the day I wore a knee support and took four painkillers.

I made it round in 3 hours and 16 minutes !

I've since far raised a fantastic 675 pounds but with your help I can reach the magical target of 700.

Thank you for your support !
