Story
So I signed up to run the 2020 London Marathon for KAB in late 2019 and started my training in earnest, expecting to run in April 2020 - in the 40th London Marathon and marking KAB’s 100th Anniversary. Then in early 2020, as we know, Covid hit and disrupted everything.
The 2020 Marathon was postponed to October but unfortunately could not take place so I took my place at the start line for the ‘virtual’ London Marathon. Running a marathon solo without crowd support was hard, especially on a grim a rainy day so I was pleased to complete it in 4 hours 13 minutes (some way off my best).
Because of the postponement KAB have kindly carried forward my place for the 2021 London Marathon which will hopefully take place properly, in London, on 3rd October 2021. Because of injuries and niggles training has not been ideal, but I’m determined to complete the event and continue raising money for KAB in what will be my 5th (and probably my last London Marathon).
Therefore if you sponsored me for the first one (or not), please sponsor me for this new challenge!
Please give generously to this great cause and see below some information of how your money will be helping those in need.
Many Thanks,
Matt

KAB are a fantastic local charity doing great things throughout Kent and making a real difference to the lives of those who are either blind or sight-impaired.
Having visited their head office facility and seen first-hand the work they do, I am immensely proud to be associated with the charity and to be given the opportunity to run the London Marathon on their behalf in their 100th year. I want to help raise valuable funds to support them going forward. Please see more at their website: https://www.kab.org.uk
