On the 10th/11th September there is a 24 hour sailing race in Southport. This event is fiercely contested by sailing clubs nationwide and is normally sailed by members of each club doing 1-2 hour shifts each and then swapping over. However, this year Tim Brownell and I plan to sail the whole 24 hour race without a single break, no matter how windy, cold or wet it is, just the two of us.

In December 2009, my dad, Dr.Vetrivel Velamail was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He has been a GP for many years in Rotherham and has now come to the end of all available treatment in this country. Despite this, he is working hard to try and raise awareness and raise money for Brain Tumour Research, to help create a better future for people diagnosed with this devastating disease. By undertaking this race, myself and Tim hope to help Brain Tumour Research towards finding a cure so others do not have to suffer in the future.
It would mean so much to us if you could help us reach our target of at least £5000 to donate to BRAIN TUMOUR RESEARCH.
DID YOU KNOW?

Brain Tumour Research represents the united campaign voice of the Brain Tumour Research group of charities. Its mission is to raise at least £7 million per annum in order to accelerate progress significantly in UK brain tumour research, to make a clinical difference and to improve the outcomes for brain tumour patients.
Funds raised will be allocated to existing UK centres where brain tumour research is already carried out and used to achieve a common into discovering the causes, advancing treatments and ultimately finding a cure.
The event will start at 12.00 Saturday 10 September and finish at 12.00 Sunday 11 at Southport Marine Lake so feel free to come along and watch!
