Story
Welcome to my Justgiving page!
As a man who (a) dislikes running and (b) suffer with sciatica maybe doing the Cardiff half marathon wasn't the best idea i've ever had, but I wanted to do something in memory of my Dad Tony who passed away in October 2011 after bravely fighting cancer.
My father and my step-mum Annette were supported by Macmillan nurses to make my fathers remaining time as comfortable as possible, and this is my way of giving something back to Macmillan.
If what I do helps another person to have the same support and care Macmillan gave to my wonderful dad then my goal is achieved!
I'm 41, haven't run more than five miles in my life, to date I have done next to no training and usually after 3 miles my back give me hassle, BUT I WILL DO THIS IF I HAVE TO CRAWL IT!
I am also running in memory of my dad as it will be 3 years since he passed away, I will wear a picture of him, and hope that I run with the same spirit he had as a sportsman.
Dig deep, give what you can and someone bring oxygen to the finish line for me please.......
