Story

Updated on Apr 25th 2010 at 3:32 PM using the JustGiving iPhone app

Done. Was hoping for sub 3.30 and finished in 3.27 so very happy. Thanks to everyone who supported me. I'm very grateful. Kids saw me on the telly so expect some respect at home now I'm famous!

Update 3 April 2010:  Felt good at the start of March but a cold has stopped me from training for two weeks which has set me back.  I need to shake it off very soon...

Update 28 Feb 2010:  A hilly, breezy, rainy 21 mile run on the moors today.  It wasn't easy but thinking about your donations got me through it - thanks!

Update 31 Jan 2010
I've managed 180 training miles in January.  Longest run of 17 miles - "only" nine more miles to find...!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to run the London Marathon in April.  I haven't run a marathon before.  I have, however, run a few half marathons.  I can safely say that whenever I've finished a half marathon I've NEVER thought that it would be a good idea to then run the same distance again. Which begs the question - why?

I am running to raise money for a cause which is very important to Frances, me and thousands of other families in the UK - The National Autistic Society.  Many of you know our son Toby who, together with an estimated 1 in 100 children, is on the autistic spectrum. Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects the way a person communicates and relates to people around them.

Since Toby was diagnosed, the National Autistic Society has been a great help to us - providing information, support and services which have made a very positive difference to all of our lives.

So please wish me luck and thank you in advance for your support.

Matthew
