Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

From September 11 to 14 2014 I shall be cycling the 350 miles from my home in Ashtead to Amsterdam with a team of friends.

In January 2003 Rianna, a young girl just eight years old, died tragically when a tree fell at her school in Ashtead, Surrey. Rianna’s Fund children’s charity was established to help and support underprivileged children around the world reach their full potential. Rianna’s Fund has been able to develop and support many projects, including a home for orphans in Kenya, the building of a new school for over 640 children in Kampala, Uganda and more recently a number of projects in India, which include building a new children’s home in Mumbai.

We are currently raising funds to build classrooms in schools in Uganda.  My photos show Malongo and Namaira schools in rural Uganda - Malongo school as we first saw it, a covered area with no formal classrooms, and the results of the Rianna’s Fund financed construction with the community.  A third photo shows the current classroom block at Namaira school in Uganda, which we are seeking to replace with a brick classroom block with the funds raised from the Ashtead to Amsterdam ride.

What different donation amounts can pay for

£5 pays for one month’s school fees for a child at Malongo.

£25 pays for a child’s care for one year at Way True Life Children’s Home in India.

£100 pays for a year’s primary school education for a child in Kenya.

£1,200 pays for a third of a new school classroom at Namaira.

The new classroom block (four classrooms) at Namaira will cost c£14,000 to build.
