After giving it much thought my friends and I decided we wanted to raise some much needed funds for the amazing charity Macmillan. Unfortunately everyone at some point in their life will be touched by cancer, whether that is someone you know, work with or possibly yourself.

Macmillan play an incredible role in supporting all those affected and we wanted to do our bit.

A huge passion for all of us is golf, the Macmillan longest day challenge allows us to enjoy our passion whilst making a difference and raising some invaluable funds.

The longest day involves playing 4 rounds of golf in one day, that’s 72 holes, most likely 20 miles and probably 400+ shots. Our day will start at 3am, getting up, having a hearty breakfast and arriving at the course for our first tee time of 4.20!!

We will be holding this event at Collingtree Park Golf Club, Northamptonshire, a course which has previously held the British Master so no easy task.

We will be posting pictures and videos in the run up to the day and then the day itself, by the end I a pretty sure just putting the ball on a tee will be a hard enough task.

£1,390 could keep five typical Macmillan information and support centres stocked with all the information resources they need to support people affected by cancer for a month. These resources would include booklets, guides, directories and leaflets.

£4,132 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for a month, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
