Story
One month today, on Saturday 2nd September, Sara and I (on my 49th birthday) will be running the inaugural Bedford Half Marathon. As you know, I am not built for speed but I’ve managed to run over 50 miles in the last three months as part of my training. I know the enormous sense of well being we will all have once we conquer 13.1 miles so we want to channel that well being into something good; in this case the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Sara and I raised over £1500 in 2015 when we climbed a big mountain in the Lake District in hideous weather as part of the Climb of Life (COL) and we will be up in the Lakes, no doubt in the rain, in November to carry on the fund raising in COL’s 30th year. We’re hoping that we will be able to get to £2,000 this year and that’s where you lovely people come in.
The institute of cancer research works alongside all of the key UK based Cancer charities and in partnership with The Royal Marsden Hospital, forms the largest comprehensive cancer center in Europe.
Whatever you can donate will make a difference in helping beat cancer and will also help get us across the finish line!
