We give grants and Christmas gifts to support the children who need it most
Story
As a native of the North East I've always watched the Great North Run, even when I lived many thousands of miles away and imagined myself taking part. It's such a proud event for the region so 2015 is the year I've chosen to stop imagining and just do it.
I've been in much (much) better running shape in the past than I am now! So this is also an ideal opportunity to get fitter again/lose weight and get my running legs back. It's also a chance to raise money and awareness for my chosen charity Cash For Kids - who I first encountered via work - win/win.
I've set myself this target 4 months out from the run itself - which happens 2 days before my birthday. I'm certain there's going to be a lot of hurting and doubt on the journey to completing my first Half Marathon but it wouldn't be such a special achievement if it was easy.
Wish me luck and please donate if you can. Share my link too!
