Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As I rapidly approached 50 rather than simply have a mid life crisis and buy a motorbike I wanted a challenge that would last me. I have decided to combine my love of travelling with doing something worthwhile and to that end I am part of an expedition to The Gambia in September 2022: Op Zephyr.
Combined services of Police officers and staff and Firefighters from around the UK and Europe will support this newly formed Emergency Services Aid Charity. We are transporting a fleet of Fire Engines, Ambulances and support vehicles over 3,500kms to rural communities in The Gambia.
This donation will help to care for and save the lives of thousands of Gambians, many of whom would not otherwise be able to access urgent medical care. In a country where infant mortality is amongst the highest, and minor injuries quickly result in life changing issues such as amputation. The provision of an ambulance service will make all the difference.
For me the expedition will start in Worcester where I travel across to France, Spain, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal and into The Gambia. We expect to be away for three weeks.
We are using our own time and resources to this, but we need your help. We need to fund purchasing the donor vehicles themselves and equipping them, along with the costs of getting everything there (in one piece). Any donations towards helping to make this life changing project succeed will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help, it’s will be greatly appreciated by all those that will receive this equipment.
