Story
Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've created this page in memory of my friend Matthew McMurray to raise money for Bolton Smiley Faces with the help of Gary McMurray, friend, colleague and Matthews dad.
Matthew sadly left us on the 26th September 2022 at the young age of 35 which was a huge shock to us all following a very short term illness in hospital.
He has left behind his wife Lindsay and 6 children, Joe, Leah, Dan, Oli, Louie and Alfi.
Louie his second youngest child (seen in the above picture with Matt) suffers with Downs Syndrome and severe learning difficulties and when needed Bolton Smiley faces have been there to offer support and advice for Matthew and his family so when I got offered a place in the London Marathon 2023 ballot, it seemed a natural choice to run for BSF in memory of Matthew.
Matthew was an avid Bolton Wanderers fan so to add to my pain of running 26.2 miles, I will be running it in a personalised Bolton Wanderers football kit which will be donated to Gary, framed along with the finishers medal once completed.
I'm asking you all kindly to sponsor me as little or as much as you can afford for this amazing local charity.
You will be sent a Smiley Face pin badge to wear with pride for your donation.
Many thanks in advance from both Gary and I.
Peace and love <3
