Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Brain tumors kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other form of cancer. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.
My Father, Alan Neilson, was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour in 2011 and given 14 months to live. He passed away in November 2015. His willingness to hold on seemingly baffled doctors and inspired many. He would let nothing break him, with a sense of humour that remained until the very end. It is this fighting spirit which I wish to use as fuel to get me through this ultra-trail-marathon, which when compared to his journey is undeniably insignificant.
When considering how underfunded this specific sector of cancer research is, every donation goes a very long way.
*Update* we've gone and smashed the day's worth of funding target of £2740! That is genuinely unbelievable. Thank you to absolutely everyone who donated, your money has made a difference. Let's see how far we can go!
I've increases the target to £5480. This is because 5480 pounds is the amount it takes to fund 2 day's worth of research within the BTR labs. To make this much of an impact would be unbelievable.
Thanks again.
