Runners, joggers and walkers are being given a unique opportunity to turn the runway red at Manchester Airport to raise funds for two special charities.
Manchester Airport and British Airways are having a marathon celebrity event which takes off on Sunday September 21.
The autumn fun runners will follow a 4km route around the perimeter of the airport in aid of Flying Start, British Airways’ global charity partnership with Comic Relief UK, and Manchester Airport’s charity, Medcare.
Participants are being asked to wear something red and to raise a minimum of £25 in order to take part. They will be joined at the start line and during the run by a number of famous faces, with the full celebrity line up to be revealed at a later date.
The starting point is the Runway Visitor Park and participants will literally run round Manchester Airport’s runways following the Runway Two Nature Trail through the Bollin Valley, which offers some fantastic viewing points for watching aircraft landing and taking off.
