July 2015 Update:
Training has been going well since last year. I've managed to ride every week 2-3 times to and from work, even in the snow! I've also managed a couple of 100+ mile rides too, racking up over 4000 miles in 2015.
Thank you to everyone that has donated so far!

I lost my Dad, Terry Harlow, to cancer in 2007 and it still feels raw in my mind now when I think about it.
In November 2014, a family friend and an inspirational lady from my village spent her last few weeks in the compassionate care of the Macmillan unit of the Derby Royal hospital. Unfortunately, I've known quite a few lives that have been lost to cancer. Cancer sucks.
I've decided now is the time to help raise some money for this fantastic charity that is there to support families in their darkest hours.
What am I doing? In August 2015 I plan to ride in the “Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100” – a 100 mile bike ride from London, around Surrey and back.
I am going to be training throughout the winter months, mainly by commuting to work, whatever the weather, to make sure I can get a good time come next August. So whatever you can give will help motivate me through the dark, cold, wet mornings and evenings whilst I try and get fitter!
Macmillan have kindly offered me a guaranteed sponsored place in their cycling team in exchange for raising £750 for their charity.
