Story
We did it! Over $5000 or 3000 pounds raised for Parkinsons Research. The ride was fun and definitely tough at the end but your support and donations made it all worthwhile. If you donated you will have received a copy of my little blog so I hope you enjoy.
All the best,
Matt.
26 years ago my father, Bob Greenwood, completed a bicycle ride from John O’Groats, Scotland to Lands’ End, England over 10 days. The ride was in aid of the Rotary International campaign at the time to eradicate Polio from the world. A short time after completing the ride he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and despite the added challenge he continued to live life to the fullest including a second ride in 1998, this time on a motorbike in aid of Parkinson’s UK. My father passed away in late 2011 following a stroke and complications from Parkinson’s Disease.
In recognition of his fantastic commitment to this cause I will be taking the same route in his honour this summer. The ride will again be in support of Parkinson’s charities in the UK and in Canada. I will begin on July 26 in John O’Groats and target 100 miles per day for 10 days arriving in Lands’ End on August 4.
So please dig deep and donate now.
