Story
In August 2016, my wonderful Dad finally lost a brave fight against Sarcoma, a rare and complex cancer that attacks soft tissue or bone.
A year later, my brother James and I will be running for 24 hours on a lapped course in Keswick, Cumbria, where our parents made their home and hope to raise valuable funds for charities that are important to us both. This will also offer us the opportunity to run in a part of the world Dad loved dearly and where we feel closest to him and his memory.
Our 7 mile laps begin and finish at the Moot Hall, Keswick and have some cheeky little inclines thrown in for good measure! All on road, we would be delighted if anyone wants to join us for 1 or even multiple laps....especially during the night!
We begin at midday on 18th August and finish at midday on Saturday 19th August. Hopefully see you there?
While James is supporting Sarcoma UK, I am keen to fund raise on behalf of an organisation in my native Tyne Valley, namely Tynedale Hospice at Home.
End of life care is something I witnessed personally last year and it offers immense comfort, not only to the patient but to their families too. Given that Tynedale Hospice at Home relies almost entirely on donations, I am very keen to do my bit for an organisation that plays such a crucial role in my community
