Story
I'm fundraising for World Villages for Children and The Sisters of Mary to help change the world one student at a time. For 60 years this organization has rescued and transformed the lives of more than 150,000 of the worlds poorest children from the most desperate situations in 14 facilities across seven countries around the world. Please help me reach my fundraising target by clicking on the donate button today. Even though I have never been directly involved with JustGiving until this year, I have seen the smiles in children's faces in impoverished countries such as Argentina. The smiles that these donations bring, are true representations of the difference we can make in these childrens' lives. I hope that anyone who reads this page will donate. All donations help, because as St. Therese of Lisieux once said, "little things for Jesus have a great reward."
Each year, the Sisters seek out the most vulnerable, underprivileged children to admit them to the program. Working primarily with students as teens, the Sisters of Mary are able to act as "Mother" Sisters to groups of about 30 students. Through education, vocational training, and building self-confidence students discover new opportunities to overcome the cycle of poverty. Many of our graduates support their families. Thus, when we educate one child, we help whole families, and our impact reaches far beyond each of the 20,000 students currently enrolled.
Even though statistics can't say more than experience, here are some examples of what your donations can mean for these children:
