Remembering Mary Warner 1936 - 2022

Joni Warner is raising money for The Kids Network
In memory of Mary Warner
The Kids Network provides mentoring for children aged 8–11 having a tough start to life in London. Our year-long mentoring programme gives children weekly opportunities for fun, connection, and new experiences that are proven to boost their mental health, wellbeing, confidence and resilience.

Story

My nan was so special in so many ways. Such a loving, caring and beautiful person. I think I speak on behalf of all her family and friends, when I say there will be a big hole in our lives now she has passed. I will always remember her amazing humour, always laughing and giggling at herself and those around her. Her smile brightened up a room and her strength was awe inspiring. She will be greatly missed but I will hold on to all the wonderful memories with her so tightly. Mary Warner was truly one of a kind!

My nan really loved children and was very fond of the charity I work for and the work we do. I used to sit down with her and have long talks about the challenges children face and how The Kids Network is trying to support these children. It brought a smile to her face knowing there were organisations like ours out there, really making a difference to children lives and their families too.

Family was also the most important thing in her life and she held us all close in her heart. Therefore, as a family, we felt she would have loved that donations in her memory would have gone to support one of her Grandchildren’s work.

Here is a little bit about the charity:

The Kids Network supports children at a crucial time in their lives, in the lead up to and often during the transition from primary into secondary school. We do this by providing them with a volunteer mentor, a local hero from their London community.

They exist because 38% of children situated in inner London live in poverty. As an organisation, we want to support as many children as possible. 50% of mental health issues can be diagnoses before the age of 14, our aim is to prevent this. We pair vulnerable 8-11 year olds with professional mentors within the London districts. To create a better sense of community.

The children receive over 100+ hours of support, administered
through weekly sessions, with the simple incentive of providing a child with the invaluable resources, human connection and support.

Thank you for your donations and helping to make a difference to children's lives.
