Story

Cheam Cricket Club has been a keen supporter of Save The Children, for many years, especially the local Cheam Branch who have a photo of the Club House on their wall reflecting the charity's recognition of Cheam CC's fundraising efforts.

Ray and Mary Kasey, Cheam CC Vice Presidents and two of the clubs most loyal supporters, have been key volunteer workers for Save the Children since 1996 and have helped raised £1,500,000.

For over 6 years Mary has fought, and continues to fight, a complicated cancer disease and although her efforts are now limited, she still does more than her fair share of charity work which includes spending time knitting blankets for premature babies. Over 2000 of which go to local hospitals as well as hospitals in Africa and the Far East.

In recognition of Mary's volunteer work and fundraising achievements, members and supporters of Cheam CC will take part in a sponsored 30 mile bike ride, from Cheam Cricket Club to The Oval Cricket Ground and concluding back at Cheam Cricket Club. The ride will commence at 9am on Sunday 13th April and all monies raised will be donated to Save The Children.

Save The Children works in more than 120 countries.  Saving children's lives, fighting for their rights, and helping them fulfill their potential.

If you wish to take part in the bike ride or would like to help raise money on the day, please contact Kevin Brown (kevbrown109@hotmail.co.uk). Your help is gratefully appreciated.
