Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page, you are so very kind :)

As many of you already know, cancer is one of life's toughest battles, either due to personal experience, or knowing someone close to you who has been through the fight themselves; enduring extreme discomfort and chronic pain, feeling the worst you could possibly feel. Although we are lucky to live in a time where treatments are readily available to us, even these have their own unpleasant side effects.  During life saving therapy many loose their hair, which can be very traumatic and extremely hard to deal with while suffering so much already.
My exceptionally strong and positive Auntie Karen is currently undergoing chemotherapy for yet another bout of cancer and she is unfortunately loosing her hair due to the treatment. So my lovely Mummy and I have decided to shave our heads in support of my Mum's sister and my Auntie being such a brave champion for a surprise! It's got to be so tough to loose your hair against your will, so we are hoping shaving ours will hopefully give comfort and support.

With your help we would like to raise £1000 or more for Macmillan Cancer Support. They are one of the largest British Charities that provide specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Although cancer is carried by the patient, it affects everyone who cares for them too; Macmillan supports families in order that they remain strong enough to carry their loved one through the ordeal.  Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK, however as a charity they rely on donations, without this income they can not offer hope and light to the thousands they currently help every day.
We are truly grateful for any donation you can give; please share our page and spread the word of this event to friends, family and acquaintances to help us raise as much money as possible for a fantastic cause.
Our heads will be shaved at my Auntie Caroline's house on Sunday 3rd August 2014 in Stoborough, Wareham. Anyone and everyone are more than welcome to come along and we will be bidding off our ponytails for who ever would like to cut one off!
Thank you in advance for your amazing support, it really does mean the world to us. No amount is too small and certainly never too large so please dig deep and let's make a difference now.
