A team of staff, students, families and friends at Southampton University are planning to read the whole of Charles Dickens's novel Great Expectations aloud in as many languages as we can in 24 hours, in order to raise money for the Southampton Cancer Immunology Centre. The event takes place over the weekend of 14th/15th January 2017; Dickens's great-great-grand daughter Kate Dickens will be kicking us off at 9AM on the 14th with a reading of Chapter 1. Do sponsor this fantastic cause! The cure for cancer could be just around the corner.
