Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This July I am cycling from London to Paris ( 300 miles in 3 1/2 days - gulp!) to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Almost all their work is funded by voluntary donations. This page is dedicated to Nora McLoughlin our Mum and Grandma who died of cancer in 1998. The main photo is of her in '97 with all the grandchildren - even 'baby Ellen'!
The photo of me is with the birthday presents which are going to get me there, my fantastic new road bike from Harry and my lovely go faster jacket from Patrick & Courtney.
I've organised fundraising for Macmillan and for Marie Curie before though nothing on this scale so it was a bit daunting but I've had a fantastic response so far. The cost of the ride is already covered so all money raised goes directly to Macmillan Cancer Support. I'm aiming to raise £1,500.00 in total and so far I've raised just over £700.00.
I'm training hard for the ride - out 3 times a week on the bike and I'm currently up to 45 - 50 miles on Sundays (though I need to increase that). I'll keep you updated on my progress- and my aches and pains - as the ride gets closer.
Thanks for any help you can give and wish me luck!
