Well we have done it ! We cycled from Calais to Taranto in Southern Italy. We biked 1778 miles (nearly 3000 kms) It took us 57 days. We had 9 days off. No injuries to report, no falls from our bikes (well just little ones!) No aches and pains. We are able to mend punctures, cycle over mountain ranges and we were excellent at getting lost !! Three weeks after the finish and we are still bubbling with excitement and still wishing we could jump on our bikes every morning. We did it for many reasons. To keep fit, to challenge ourselves but also to support Cancer Research UK in their effort to chip away and find the reasons why someone develops this awful disease and their quest to find better treatments. We are both in our fifties and have lost too many friends in our age group in the last three years alone. We don't have to raise money for this challenge but friends and family members have asked who we are going to support and it seemed too good an opportunity to miss. Thank you so much for giving so generously and thank you also to our drivers who made the whole thing possible.
