Story
Many will know that our son, James, has been diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML) and we are extremely grateful for the support we have received following his recent news. Although unable to change the condition, I wish to combine a determination to run the London Marathon with raising money for an organisation which supports those dealing with leukaemia - Leukaemia Care.
Leukaemia Care is a national charity dedicated to ensuring that anyone affected by blood cancer receives the right information, advice and support. Around 34,000 people are affected by blood cancer each year in the UK and they are there to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
James is dealing extremely well with the shock of diagnosis and the treatment plan which has forced necessary adjustments to his life. Determined to ‘crack on’, he is doing just that and I know that he will be supporting me in London in April. We are extremely proud of his positive and determined approach. We are also grateful to all who are supporting James and us as a family, including the wider charity community who offer so much. We are grateful for any support you can offer to help Leukaemia Care. Thank you!
