Story

Many many thanks to all of you who helped me achieve the iconic Lands End to John O'Groats bike ride in September 2014!  Altogether I raised almost £3,000 for the Vodafone Foundation 'Moyo Lesotho' appeal.

Why this charity? Well, many children in Lesotho are born each year with HIV, but only 10% of them receive the antiretroviral medication they need. The medication is there, but most children cannot access this because they can't get to treatment centres. The Vodafone Foundation fundraising appeal is very targeted in that it aims to ensure that all children with HIV have the funds to get to the treatment centres.

How did I get on with the bike ride? No doubt about it! it was a hard bike ride! Over 100 miles a day over 9 days, with many hills and at quite a pace too! But I was blessed with sunny and dry weather throughout, fantastic riding companions and many new friends! Check out my posts on Facebook for the day-by-day summary and photos.

Would I do it again? Fund-raising definitely. LEJOG bike ride...ask me again next year!

Many thanks again and best wishes. Martin Ratcliffe
