Question: why raise money for the Woking & Sam Beare Hospices?
For our family it is cancer. An auntie and grandfather missed every moment of every day. A diagnosis of terminal cancer can feel like a huge chasm has suddenly opened up beneath all those concerned. A feeling of complete and utter helplessness. To add to the despair there are a thousand questions. What does it mean? What will happen next? How will we cope? Where can we get help? What’s the Plan B?
For us, the Woking and Sam Beare Hospices were, and continue to be, that Plan B. From the caring and friendly support provided by the exceptional staff and facilities, through to the professional, practical and emotional care provided to ensure complete respect and dignity for those at the end of life.
Answer: because I want patients and families facing life-limiting illness to be assured they are not alone and there is a Plan B; a place that will provide them with all the help, support and care they need.
Without my help, without your help, these critical facilities and services would not be available. Imagine that for just one moment.
So, on Sunday 9 March I will run 13.1 miles, a distance I’ve never attempted before, and with our support the Woking and Same Beare hospices can continue to do what they do best: care.
Please support me and the hospices by giving what you can. No amount is too little or too much.
Thank you.
