Every time I’m in London I see more and more people sleeping on the streets. In 2010 there were 2,000 people sleeping rough in the UK.  Today that figure is at 5,000. In this day and age, everyone deserves at least a roof over their head, especially in winter. A bad financial decision, a mistake, or just bad luck can quickly lead to people losing their homes or not having enough money to pay rent. 

Whilst we are all enjoying our turkey and wine on Christmas Day, many people will just be trying to stay warm. To help these people, I’m hoping to raise as much money as possible by putting myself in their position for one night. On Friday 13th December I will head to London in the afternoon with just a return train ticket, a sleeping bag and a paper cup. No phone. No money. No food. No drink. I will then find a doorway to sit in until the morning.

Any money that people put in my cup will be donated to Shelter From The Storm. I know Christmas is an expensive time of year, so even just a small donation would be gratefully received.
