We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Hey Guys, To start can i just take the time to thank everybody who gave generously on our fund raising event last year, The Team Wild Thing London to Blighty bike ride where we managed to raise £250.00 for Cancer Research UK. The 54 mile bike ride was a great event however not very challenging as it is so slow with millions of people, so this year Mum and myself have decided to really challenge ourselves by doing a triathlon and donating again to Cancer Research UK.

The Mission: We first decided on a Sprint distance Tri which I consider to be much easier than this one however we are doing this for charity so we need a challenge, so on the 29th of May we will be making our way at 5am to Shiplake College, Henley on Thames where a 300Mtr outdoor pool swim, a 14.5km Road Ride and a 3.5km run await us. (Coming to support us is encouraged!!)

Sheila - Training is going better now, slight adjustments to bike a big help, still frustrating for Martin as he fails to understand why I am so slow!! Well not as fast as him, seems to forget that I am now a veteran. I don't think the transition from bike to run will ever get any easier, for the first 10 mins of the run my legs haven't worked out that are meant to be running. Hoping to try a swim to bike shortly. So much to think about! Its not like going for a run race. (Just turn up at the start and run to the finish!) We are both really looking forward to the race though not the early start.

Martin- I CAN SWIM! my body seems to now realise that it can float...Legs too! I am hitting a consistate 6 mins for 300mtrs now so the focus is to incease power and time now. Cycling is going great guns but running has been slowed down due to calf injury which just keeps returning to haunt me. 50 mins is my goal for the whole event, We shall see......
