Story
Yet again another lockdown has hit the U.K. This time, our very own Mark will be using his daily permitted exercise for more then just a gentle stroll around a park.
He has decided to Kayak 1137KM in aid of Parasol! The same distance from Lands End to John O'Groats, via Oxford 'as the crow flies', but back and forth on his local waterways.
Here is a short message from Mark himself:
"Hi. Mark here. Thanks for having a look. First, a confession: I am and always have been appalling at keeping up with any exercise regime. However, if I know you are watching me, I'll be shamed into keeping going. So, by having a look, you are already helping a bald bloke make it from 61 to 62 years old in moderately good health.
As restrictions ease up and the weather improves, I hope to get out and about in different types of boats. Rest assured, they will all need paddling. I will provide photographic evidence.
Finally, for those who don't know, Parasol is a brilliant charity, proving inclusive services for disabled and non-disabled children and young people. Have a look at the web site. Your sponsorship will put smiles on some faces by supporting children and young people at risk of social exclusion."
Visit 'The Parasol Project's' Facebook page to track Marks progress, cheer him on and help us to achieve our goal.
Every penny goes towards the funding of Parasol services, for which we are very grateful. The last few months have been challenging and have demonstrated just how important our work is. So we want to raise as much as we can to help keep us going.
February is not the warmest, nor is the river for that matter! Let's wish Mark the best of luck, he's going to smash it.
