Last year Tracey participated in the first Hamble New Year Dip which not only supported the CLIC Sargent charity but also was great fun - albeit chilly!  We decided it would be fantastic if John Lewis agreed to sponsor the event, which they did.  Tracey and Mark made a joint pact to enter the water together in fancy dress at the start on 2010.

And the fancy dress?  Mark will look very handsome in his tuxedo and Tracey hopes to fit into her wedding dress (let's face it, she won't be getting married again so what else should she do with it?!).   We will post pictures after the event!

Update 1 - 14 December: The weather and the forecast is casting a bit of a shadow with only 2 and a bit weeks to go.............brrrrrrrrrr!!! Thanks to everyone who have already sponsored us!!! We have raised the target and really want to stretch towards this!! Thanks again! M and T x

Update 2 - Thursday 31 December.  Just over 24 hours to go and the reality of what we are doing is sinking in!!!  We had a dress rehearsal yesterday (just the costumes - no water!) and I was surprised to find that my dinner suit trousers missed doing up by some distance!! Tracey had to cut them down the back and sew some elastic in them so I could get them on!!  A Happy New to All and thank you so much for sponsoring us!!

Update 3 - Saturday 2 January:  We did it!! It was mighty cold but a lovely sunny day with a brilliant atmosphere!! A much bigger event too with 30 dippers this year (18 last year) and a much larger crowd several hundred strong lining the foreshore. Lots more fancy dress this year (there were 3 other guys in tuxedos so we had a 'wedding group' photo before the off!!). Tracey was definitely original in her wedding dress and looked radiant, of course!  We have now passed our (upwardly revised) target so HUGE THANK YOU!!! to all who sponsored us and also to those who were able to come and support us yesterday.  A great start to 2010 (especially now it's over!!)
