Clearly from a young age told us what he wanted. He couldn’t say S for a long-time, but we knew exactly what he meant when he said “I want a NACK”. He also knew what he didn’t want, showing early promise in spelling he used to tell us N O spells no.

It later became apparent spelling was one of his big challenges. Being dyslexic he struggled at school and the support he needed wasn't there. So our mum filled all the gaps. Being dedicated, loving and patient as she is she did everything to support him: she took a course for teachers about dyslexia, taught him how to read with the Toe-By-Toe Book, took him to touch typing lessons. She had to fight for basic things like a plug for him to charge his laptop. He was fortunate to have such a wonderful advocate for his needs.

Unfortunately not everyone with dyslexia gets the support they need to reach their full potential. 10% of the population have dyslexia while shockingly 30% of the prison population have dyslexia. Thank you for donating in Mark's memory to help more kids like him live their dreams and prevent kids getting lost in the education system.

Rest in peace little (big) brother. At 21 you’ve left us all in shock with a big hole in our hearts.
