Story
This year I am running in Europes Toughest Mudder for the Jacob Abraham Foundation which helps people who are depressed and suicidal.
I was recently introduced to Nicola Abraham who lost her son Jacob to suicide at the age of just 24 around 3 years ago.
Since then she has set up this foundation and immersed herself in trying to help others.
Rates of suicide amongst men in the UK are frightening and many of these guys have jobs and families and on the surface seem fine..
They are run simply via fund raising from the general public and work all hours to provide support.
I lost one of my closest friends back in 2012 to suicide and have seen close friends attempt it too.
Having suffered from depression in my late 20s I have first hand experience of how it feels to be apparently okay on the outside but at rock bottom on the inside.
I feel compelled to get involved with this charity and help spread awareness and raise some money in the process too.
When someone takes their own life it’s not just their own but their entire family that is effected too.
It’s time to put a stop to this, it’s time to talk.
I appreciated your support.
