Story
On October the 5th i will be embarking on my first ever marathon(and probably my last!) As many of you may know i'm no Mo Farah or Paula Radcliffe so for me to do this is going to be a hard and painful slog but with the thought of raising money for my chosen charity and support from friends and family i know it will keep me going over the 26 miles..
Last May my beautiful wife Rosie was given the news everyone dreads to hear.. YOU HAVE CANCER!
To make it worse, Rosie has a very rare and aggressive cancer behind her eye called Uveal Melanoma. Approximately 50% of patients will develop metastatic disease within 5 years, this means it will spread to others areas of the body, usually the liver. Once the liver is involved the cancer is currently incurable.
I will be raising money for the Eye Tumor Research Fund at the royal liverpool hospital. All the money raised will help towards advance research and treatment of Ocular Tumors with the aim to better understand this terrible disease and improving patient care and survival.
Please help me by giving any thing you can afford, big or small,so we can help find a cure for Rosie and all the other patients that are diagnosed with this rare but fatal disease..
Kind Regards
Mark
