Story
Having always liked a challenge and with my footballing days behind me I started running(well jogging!) in February 2009 in an attempt to stay healthy. Soon after managing to run (those that have seen me play footy know this would be new to me!) I got the bug and started to prepare for my first running challenge of a Half Marathon - I chose the Bath Half after Nikki and I visited there for a long weekend earlier in the year. So having managed to get my run's from 5 miles to 8 miles and 10 miles and then back down to 5 miles it was time to get some inspiration to motivate me on the remaining months of my training and complete my challenge in March.
Great Ormond Street Hospital has always been a charity I have donated personally to - a friend of our family was born with a hole in the heart and GOSH really made a difference to them. Having become a father in the last few years, and spent some time in local hospitals with Jack (most recently with a broken arm) I appreciate how lucky we are and spared some thoughts for those children and families affected by life threatening conditions. Fundraising for GOSH was an easy decision! For every £20 you sponsor me we can purchase 4 neonatal masks for newborn babies, for every £50 you sponsor me we can pay for five nights upkeep for parents to stay in a family room with their baby/child.
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page and please sponsor me as much as you can. JustGiving will send your money directly to Great Ormond Street Hospital and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. It truly is the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please "dig deep" and thank you!
